Old Woking Cricket Club was established in 1962.

The Club

OWCC was founded in 1962 when Kenwoods Manufacturing Company moved from Woking to Havant, leaving the ‘Remnants’ to play in Woking Park. The club quickly established itself in the local area. This was due to the enthusiasm and efforts of the members. The guiding hand through the club’s first 30 years existence was the late ‘Snowy’ Carter who sadly died in 1992. The clubhouse is dedicated to his memory.

Old Woking has leased its current ground since 1967 and thanks to the continuing dedication of members it provides some of the best cricketing facilities in the area. As Woking Remnants the club has won the Morrant Wey Valley Cricket League Second Division twice, in 1977 and 1985. The club changed its name to Old Woking at the end of the 1997 season. In 1998 the club came second in the First Division of the Morrant Wey Valley Cricket League and also won the knockout cup.

In 2002 the club became a member of the Surrey Downs League, where our 1st and 2nd XI teams lie in the First and Third Divisions respectively.

I love this cricket club because it’s my family. During my time at the club I’ve built friendships and memories to last a lifetime.

What We're hoping to Achieve

  • As a club we are striving to be the best club in the local area, we currently have one team competing in Division 1 and one team in Division 3 of the Surrey Downs League.
  • High on our priority list is expanding our club, we are always recruiting new members of any ability and we're hoping to build a new club house in the near future.
  • Colts cricket is crucial for every cricket and we are currently training up new coaches to improve the future of our cricket club.
  • At OWCC we want to offer a fun, friendly and vibrant environment for all of our members and visitors.
